It’s almost physically impossible for you to have two feet that are the same size. Everyone favors one side or the other and one foot is always slightly larger than the other. For some people the difference is large enough that it can actually become a pain to figure out how to get shoes to fit correctly. Here are a few stores for people who have two very differently sized feet.
- Nordstrom: Check out your shoe stores policies. Nordstrom will allow you to purchase two different sized shoes as long as the shoes are 1.5 sizes different. You can also order online two pairs of shoes (one of each size you need) and return the shoes that don’t fit and keep the two different sized shoes. They also have special programs for people who only need one shoe.
- Birkenstock: These famously comfortable sandals offer two different sizes for no extra charge as long as the size is only 1 size up or down. They don’t offer for their entire line, but their signature sandals with the cork footbed are definitely able to be mixed. Birkenstock also allows you to purchase 1 shoe for most styles for a 40% discount.
- LL Bean: LL Bean allows you to purchase any two sizes for 1.5x’s the price of the style. You get to keep both shoes if you order online (although the extra shoes that don’t fit probably wont’ do you much good.)Policies for specific stores may change so be sure to check first before making a purchase. The best way to get the most correct information and the best help is to speak with a sales rep directly and ask them for their expertise. Your favorite shoe store may also have their own policy. It doesn’t hurt to ask!
